A glass piece that gently scares flies while respecting the environment.
The use of a plastic bag full of water hanging from the ceiling is a traditional way to scare flies away in many Mexican food markets. Water refraction amplifies colors and movements for the sensible eyes of a fly when reflected on this sphere, scaring it away and thus making it a natural and harmless pesticide.
The drop-like shape generates a beautiful refraction effect that enhances the environment wherever this piece is installed.
This completely transparent version of the Anti Fly Sphere was designed early 2010’s by Mexican Designer José de la O as a celebration for moving back to Mexico. It has been a best seller ever since. This product is made by hand at a family-owned glass workshop in Mexico City.
